I am absolutely in love with this O’Neill crewneck tunic from Wooden Ships (website here). It is the perfect transition piece for the spring and makes me want the warm spring weather to hurry up. This sweater will definitely be a closet staple this spring and I can not wait to pair it with my favorite denim shorts and sandals.
Wooden Ships was created by Colombian-born designer Paola Buendía and her husband, Mark Donovan, who met as undergraduates at Harvard. Spurred by a four-month backpacking trip to Bali, they founded Wooden Ships in 1992. Besides all the amazing sweaters that Wooden Ships offers I love that their company is all about giving back. With me being a nurse this was big for me and Wooden Ships donates to many causes. They also own and operate their own factory , and can go beyond fair wages and conditions by providing their employees with extensive training and opportunities for growth. They offer generous vacation, holiday and sick day policies, and provide free health care for all employees, which is so important. I mean who doesn’t love to take a good vacation and travel every once in a while. All of their pieces they make are made-to-order – they don’t build any stock. Rather than build up stock on things they “might” sell, they produce one Sales Order at a time. This is awesome because they can pay close attention to detail. I will definitely be ordering more sweaters from them because they are so comfortable and made to perfection.
Thanks so much for stopping by xo!
